I have a 1984 k10 and I'm wondering where I can find a crossmember that runs between the front of rear leaf springs? They seem hard to find. Also does anyone know what this crossmember is called? Thanks new member here and just starting out trying to fix up my rusty K10

I think the only place you'll find one is a junk yard or maybe a member here. As far as I know they are not reproduced.
And welcome to the forums, from the rust belt ....NY chapter.

They are riveted in to the frame and I have never seen them reproduced. A K10 or K20 one should be interchangeable I think. I had to cut the rivets of mine out and move it forward 4" in order to put GMT-400 rear springs on it. I replaced the rivets with Grade 8 3/8" x 1" bolts, hardened washers, and locking nuts.

The 80s may have the reduced weight but structurally ok ones. the 70s front crossmember is a solid piece but the 80s made it different shape and an opening is in it i think

Have you had any luck finding this part? I have an 87 and I am looking for the same part. Can't find it new anywhere, an image of it or what it is called.

I haven't seen one reproduced. You are likely going to need to take one from another vehicle in a junkyard. Also, anything hitting the truck hard enough to damage that crossmember is very likely to have caused other damage to the frame, It might be best to just get a whole new frame.

No I guess you just have to take on from another truck. I'm sure someone on here has one

Seattle Craigslist auto parts. Just search squarebody. Guy selling a 2 piece driveline but it’s hooked to a whole chunk of frame including the cross members. And a muffler, lol.
It’s scrap metal, so maybe you could convince him to remove it and ship it for a few bucks.

If you’re struggling finding one locally, in general there are quite a few guys in this area parting out squares. Couple of em are semi pros at it.
Suggest also joining PNW squarebodys on FB.
I know shipping is rough, but parts are plentiful if there’s things you just can’t find in the salt belt.

And that @AyWoSch Motors feller is a veritable squarebody parts guru with a seemingly endless supply of stuff from sunny New Mexico!
Thanks. I have a lot of stuff, ya never know, lol.

What are we looking for, a crossmember? What abouts does it look like?
