CPP Lowered Spindles

Has anyone installed CPP spindles before? I have heard these spindles give a more narrow track width than other aftermarket spindles. I currently have McGaughy's 2.5" drop spindles installed with 2" coils, but trying to compensate for the so called 4.5" drop. It ended up being 5.5" drop. I have rubbing issues bad. I ordered Slosh Tubz for above tire clearance, but need to gain some from tire to fender lip. Worst case I could roll and I think I'll be ok.

If I am correct, CPP offers 3 different drop spindles for C10;

the standard which is similar to what you have and every other manufacturer,

the modular; which has the drum brake offset which is narrower track width that may help your situation and allows for many different brake set-ups

The X10 which is similar to the modular but uses a modern unit bearing.

We installed the modulars on my son's truck at the suggestion of several shops in the area. I would suspect that if you are just barely rubbing, they might help but probably not worth the effort to change.

Thanks for the info! I spoke with someone at CPP and told me the modular spindles would give me about 3/4" more on each side. Was this the case on your sons truck?

Nice looking truck.

When I first got my truck years ago I had a similar issue. The p.o. had lowered the truck poorly and it rubbed every time I hit a decent size bump.

I installed the CPP modular spindles when they came out. I also at the same time installed their upper and lower tubular control arms new 2”lowered springs, shocks and installed a sway bar, my truck never had one.

I gained about 5/8” on each side at the fender which was enough to stop the rubbing. The ride difference was night and day.

My tires are not tucked up in the fender as much as yours probably 4 1/2 vs. 5 1/2, and I am still running 15’s. So I still was able to run my stock inner fenders.

That's great news! Thanks. I'm going to get the Slosh Tubz installed and then see what everything looks like. I know I will have more clearance above the tire and on the sides. I think I will still need the extra room between tires and fender lips. Not wanting to roll if I don't have too. The guy I talked to at CPP yesterday said I will gain about 1 1/8" on each side because the McGaughy's spindles stick the wheel out a little over 3/8". This has got to help I'm sure! I like your truck man. I almost kept the rally's on mine. Looks great!

Here is my truck after installing new CPP modular spindles and new urethane body bushings. The truck rides and drives great with no rubbing issues at all. I gained about 1/2" away from the inside fender lip on both sides. They certainly helped.

Truck looks great, I'm glad everything worked out. I know it can be a pain to get everything to work together sometimes, but it sure makes it worth it in the end.

Post a pic of the slosh tubz.
