Correct Hood Ornament for '76 GMC

Can someone provide some pics of what hood ornament would have been factory OEM on my 1976 crewcab Sierra Classic Camper Special?

It's a dually, 454, 400, loaded with everything.


it doesn't have one, so I guess it wasn't technically optioned out to have one- but I'd like to add one and need to know what to search for.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think hood ornaments were available at that time. In 1977, the GMC Sarge package got them, but those ornaments literally said “SARGE.” My understanding was that they didn’t get them until 1981. Chevy didn’t have them until 1978, I thought also.

I thought they started with the exterior decor package, with the hood stripes and secondary color hood. '77 or '78 I guess.

Im assuming your right since LMC only lists it for 78+

They used to sell a GMC one, too, but I’m pretty sure it was one style ‘81-‘87.
