Complete body change

I have a 1979 C30. Years ago I was told that I could unbolt a newer cab fenders and all and it would bolt right on even the wiring plugs in as long as the gauge cluster is the same. Has anyone done this?

73 to 80 use different body mounts than 81 to 87 but as long as you use the correct mounts for the year of the frame any cab 73 to 87 will bolt on.

Bumper mounting is different
