column come apart above steering shaft

Hey guys right above where the shaft bolts to the column look a like its come loose...never had this happen before. There is a c clip of sorts that was still there. I can't seem to push it all back together. Pretty dang loose in there I'd say 1/4 inch of play.

I've been installing a new gearbox. So I had to tap on the shaft to get it to and fro.I don't think I pulled it put to far it's on the box in the same location as my red truck. Pics in a sec

Was the plastic bushing bad? There's a bearing replacement you can get for it, but I don't remember what application to look up for that. Maybe '95 Fleetwood.
