Chrome bumpers comparison ?

I have two later style square Burb rear bumpers, one with brackets too. Chrome is decent but they are OEM bumpers.
The problem for us though, is shipping them from Houston, Texas to Connecticut....be more than they're worth.

maybe, maybe not. I need to look at my bumper again. I could always just send that out for a rechrome. I am concerned the new bumper are junk. The original bumper is pretty clean and straight. I hate to get rid of it and be disappointed by repro garbage.

I am at the body shop tomorrow working on my engine. I will look at the bumper and decide.

The other difficulty may be finding a good chrome plating shop? I have heard that many are being forced out of business because of the very toxic chemicals involved in the metal plating process.

The new chrome does look different, you recognize it when you see old and new chrome parts next to each other.

There are a couple chrome places left not too far away. They mostly do industrial plating for some of the defense contractors in the area but do advertise "show chrome" for automobiles. I am sure the show chrome business is more profitable.

I used LMC for quite a lot of stuff. In hindsight I'd go another route. My rear bumper and brackets don't fit right at all. Thought it'd be a direct bolt on. Nah.

Bracket holes had to hogged out just to mount to the frame. Then the bumper wouldn't line up with half the carriage holes, even with everything sitting loose. Adjusted the best I could.

Still crooked to the point I thought my frame was twisted. Few measurements later and confirmed it was the bumper. Tried a few more times with no luck.

I had the back of my amd front bumper clear coated so the back wouldn't rust and creep to the chrome. It hasn't been in the real world yet. Truck is at the body shop still

I need a rear chrome step bumper for my 1987 V3500 being restored. AMD does not carry them. Anyone have a suggestion for a decent one?

I have a Westin. They're decent, but have found that they aren't 100% flat!
