I'd go with a Edelbrock 650 w/ electric choke.

Stay away from edie's........ For Gas milage, run a Q-jet, BEST CARB DESIGN EVER. If for sheer power, go with Holley 650 Vac Secondaries.

They are scrap weight and pains in the ass. :)
They are easy to find cause noone wants them.

Everyone i know hates them, now they all run Holleys.

The only thing edlebrock makes thats good is Heads,Intakes,And valve covers/air cleaners(not the triangle foam ones)

Good Ole Holley Vs. Eddie :)

I've had 3 Edelbrocks and hated every one of them. They're easy enough to mess with and get a truck to run, but they're almost impossible to tune correctly.

For a daily driver, I would go with a quadrajet if you can find a good one. The only reason they have a bad rap is because they're all 30+ years old and people don't rebuild them correctly.

Otherwise, get a Holley or maybe Summit Racings carb. That's what I'm going to order soon.

I will be buying this soon.... triple venturi, goggle valve, butterfly flaps, 200/700r4 geometry built in, looks badass. A friend put this on his monte carlo and it was amazing how much better it runs and better MPG & HP.

if I went with Holley would I have to buy an adaptor plate since I have a Edelbrock intake?

If you want all go and no stop, get a predetor. Its either fully open, or closed, theres no middle :).

And yea, q-jets are the best carb when you know how to work on them,..

Nope. Edelbrock and Holley use the same "square bore" flange.

no, if the intake is square bore then you need a square bore carb. If the intake is a spread bore then you need a spread bore carb.

I run edelbrocks all the time, never any problems, simple and cheap to rebuild anyone can do it. I'd say why not go with a 500 cfm edelbrock or just 600? I see no need in going bigger, we run a 600 with man. choke on a mild cam 2.02 head 350 on the street just daily driver.
