Can anyone tell me what choke is on this? I know it’s not manual and has no electrical connections going to it

It works off of manifold hot air/heats the coil inside.

divorced choke, they worked decently. Have to be sure the heat riser works, and intake isn't plugged. Plugged intakes are common. A passage inside intake allows exhaust to heat the choke thermostat.

as stated above, divorced (located away from the carb body) thermal (coiled metal strip reacts to heat of the intake manifold) choke.

Get a HOLLEY!!!
And an L.S swap. Yea I'm watching you two.

Okay more seriously are you just asking? Or are you having a problem. Just for fun I just went and started my truck Q jet, choke is disabled accidentally. Its 69 degrees outside my choke plate is always wide open. I pumped the throttle twice hit the key it started almost immediately and idled, truck hasn't been started since I posted the hillbilly engine hoist situation probably 10 days ago.

Of course it started, it’s a Q-Jet. Nothing unusual about it running well. The most common carb ever built, used on who knows how many millions of GM cars and every 4bbl squarebody.

I’m gonna revive this with another question. @Paladin, since you encouraged getting a Holley, maybe you can help. Everyone else, feel free to chime in…

I’m replacing the tired slobberjet with a new Holley 4175 Q-jet style unit. It has an electric choke. I need a suggestion of where to look for a hot-to-key circuit to run it, and I’m wondering if there is anything special I need to do considering the old choke is this divorced style.

There should be a blade next to the ignition (IGN) fuse in you fusee block. Just run the wire to there.

And that’s it? There’s nothing else to do converting from divorced to electric?

Yep. Just need a keyed power source.

To be more like factory it should have keyed power to an oil pressure switch to the choke so if you have the key on without the engine running the choke gets no power. Look up factory 2 prong O.P switch 1984 c10

Do you have a picture or two of how this is done? Will I need to purchase a OP switch?
I’ve seen a few threads around about converting Q-jet divorced to electric choke. Is that what we’re talking about?

You would have to buy a new one if yours doesn't have two posts. It's not necessary to use the oil pressure sending unit to power the choke, but it does keep the choke from opening if the engine isn't running.
