some counties in Arizona require smog checks if you live there you need to keep it. if not get rid of the whole system. yeah get that fuel line off the heater hose, dang rocket scientist did that one, not. highdesertranger

One of those times I wish I was a rocket scientist so I could have some smart ass reply... City and county dont matter in Arizona as long as you insure it as a "classic" vehicle. They passed a state law a few years ago. No emissions ever as long as it is insured as a classic or antique.
And yes I am moving it. That was just to see if she would run with the new carb. Taking out all those vac lines and installing a new intake manifold, valve covers, headers, carb, and hopefully painting the engine bay. Ill start a build thread soon.

yep, anything over 20 years old (I believe) can be insured as classic and get permanent exemption.

Tuscon requires smog checks if you live there, or if you COMMUTE THERE.

Explain how that works. They set up checkpoints and smog check every vehicle passing thru that's not registered in Tucson?

Do I remember using 1/4” pipe plugs to seal the holes in the exhaust manifold when the pipes are removed?

1/4 inch pipe plugs are not the right plug. they are flare fittings you need flare plugs. however the 1/4 pipe plugs do work and most people use them, me included. just don't try to force them in all the way they will only go in a few threads because of the tapper. highdesertranger
