I was recently pulling parts off of my other cab and pulled off what appear to be a foam seal between the cab and the front fenders. Was this a factory option and are they necessary? I can't recall seeing them on any of the parts sites like LMC.

I've been looking for them myself. I have the driver's side (horrible shape) but not the passenger's side. Haven't had any luck finding them either.

Now that I know that, I'll keep an eye out when I hit up the scrap yards. Also if I decide not to use them I'll post them up on here.

No one is remaking that yet, that I'm aware of. I get 2-3 calls a month about them...

Right. I've never seen new ones online or the catalogs.

I've got a few extras of those somewhere. I actually prefer to run without them. I often blow out my door jambs with compressed air and I can do a more thorough job without the rubber flaps.

Atleast in the 70's higher trim level trucks like Cheyenne and above got them, supposed to cut wind noise down, I'm not a fan of them.

They are called windlace seals. When I was waist deep in 68-72 A-Body builds these were always a required item. They are designed to eliminate wind noise/travel from coming through the cowl-door hinge area at higher speeds.

I think i found a place that remakes them. I have heard PRP Is the best place to get Reproduction Weatherstripping from a Close Friend who only buys NOS parts he had said it's the only Weatherstrip Reproduction brand he will buy! https://www.prp.com/product/detail/...4&year=1982&make=Chevrolet&model=K10&type=All
I've used precision many times, good products.
However the link you gave is for the hood to cowl.
Thread is about the one that is between the fender and door.
