I am new to this forum. Recently acquired an 84 short bed two wheel drive C10 that a tree fell on I would like to know some information on what cabs I can use other than the exact same one.

You best bet is a 1981 through 1989... 2 wheel drive. 4x4 trucks have a high hump in the floor due to the transfer case. They will fit however not quite correct. Unless you planing on making her a 4x4. Others will probably have more info then me but this is what it think is the most accurate info for ya.

Be careful when welding on the 84-up cab floors as I believe 84 was the first year of galvanizing on the floors.

Don't talk about the swap a bunch either. DOT/DMV will want to inspect it & will definitely be hateful about tampering with the VIN. Felony charges could result... Find a good 81-87 2wd donor & close the garage doors until complete would be my advice.

You can buy the vin tag rivets. I know it from a "friend".

Stick with '84-up to simplify the swap. A few minor things changed from '81-83 and '84-up like the windshield wiper controls going from the dash to the turn signal stalk, the floors are slightly different, etc.

You leave an overlap and screw the hump down.
