I have a 85 cab that needs a lot of work done to it and a 76 cab that is in better shape. i was wondering if i could put the 76 cab on the 85 frame and still use the 85 front clip with out any issues?

It can be done, but there's a lot to change. It's easier to put the older clip on a newer cab, than to try the way you're going.

I did a front clip swap on my '80 3+3 in the mid 90's. A couple things I recall is you need to cut slots in the top of the firewall for the new hood hinges to sit down. I believe you need to swap the wiper stantions(?) from the later model as they are taller and if you are going to add the 81 and up bumper, you have to cut a end of the frame to fit the later model bumper brackets. Most of the later model interior should fit without issues.
