Hello everyone I’m new to this forum, I have a 1976 Chevy C20 454, that my parking lights are stay ON. I have replaced the light switch, I removed the connector plug on the new switch and the lights still stay ON with the connector removed. I can’t seem find any forums that have information on this issue, all issues I have found have to do with lights NOT coming on. Any input would help thank you

If no one else has an idea for you, then it would be best for you to hit up wiring diagrams to see where the circuit might be shorted to hot.

First thing I would check is trailer wiring, if it has it. That would be a great place to short wires together and accidentally power up the running lights.

Second thing i would check is for single filament bulbs in a dual filament socket. (brake lights & signal)

Thank you very much it does have a trailer breaking system on the truck. I’ll check that out. Thank you

Make sure there's nothing wonky happening at your connectors behind the bumper at the license plate for the passenger side tail lamps

Seems like power is backfeeding when it's switched off, make sure somehow none of your individual tail lamp wiring is shorting also while you're checking around.

I have completely removed the trailer brake controller. I have traced the parking brake wires under the frame found no signs of broken wires touching ground. I also removed one bulb at a time from the parking braking lights with no change and the hazardous and turn signal fuse and they still stay ON. They are staying on even with the ignition off.
