I think I need to sell a couple trucks, all they do is just sit and I don't use them. It's that whole "**** or get off the pot" thing I guess.

Anywho, first truck for sale is my '90 K2500 Suburban. The rear half of the truck is extremely rusty, but it runs and drives really well. The cruise control works. The AC blows nice and cold. All power windows work. Power locks don't work but probably can with a couple new switches and a good lube job. Windshield and LR door glass are cracked. All four tires match and have good tread, and they are mounted on those neat wide steel wheels. 10 bolt front axle with 14 bolt semi-floater rear, 3.73 gears. TBI 350 and th400, around 170K I think. Has 7-blade trailer connector. Needs a battery from sitting all the time, but will start right up with a new one. I feel it would drive across the country without issues (as if anyone outside the rustbelt would be interested, lol). It may be a rusty turd, but it is a very functional and reliable Suburban. I'd like to get $1500 for it because that's what I paid, but it's perfectly OK to offer me less.

Then there's my '83 K5 trail rig project. The truck itself is not worth much, it's the parts. It's currently a rolling shell with no engine or trans installed. It has a pickup tailgate on it and is missing a couple windows. Has a '79 front clip sitting on it. Frame was cracked at the steering box and poorly repaired, I removed all that and veed' out the cracks, it just needs welded now. It has a 6 inch lift on it. I have 1 ton axles for it, they have 4.56 gears and the rear has a detroit locker. I have brackets to bolt the rear axle in without moving the perches on the axle. I have new rocker panels. I can include a 27 spline np205 setup. I also have a working th350 but is has a long output. I can also include a 350 shortblock. It has a Reese style hitch and a gas tank skid plate. Body is kinda rusty and banged up. I also have a very heavy duty winch bumper that can go with it. I'm not willing to sell the axles separate from the K5, it just ain't gonna happen. Other parts do not have to be included. Open to offers based on what you want included, but $1500 is kinda my base price since that's about what the axles are worth. Here's an old pic, included front clip is a complete one.

I'd love to have that burb and either fix the rust or swap a good body on it :(

I'd say it's too rusty to bother restoring. I mean, it could be done and I know people have fixed worse, but that's a lot of time and energy. It's just a good truck that can be worked without worries of hurting anything. And it's comfortable. The K5 is about the same, probably a little too far gone to make it worth fixing up nice. It's not TOO bad, but the roof skin is rusted at the edges. But it's plenty solid enough of a truck to go playing in the woods and still hold itself together.

If nobody ends up wanting these then at least I can say I tried, and I won't feel guilty about them just sitting and not seeing any love. I'd like to give them love, but there's other projects that need done first and I don't even have time for half of those.

I'll make someone a great deal on either of these, I just want them to go to a good home. I know I'm going to take a big hit on the Burb, but I'm perfectly ok with that.

I got them from TowJoe, I think he pulled them from an m1008. I've never pulled the front cover yet.

Both of these are still for sale. And I'll be honest here, my bottom dollar on the Burb is 800 bucks, and I can include a lot of parts with the K5 for that listed price. I just want these trucks to get used.

Man I hate to see you part with both your toys. I know the feeling tho, I was hoping scrap would have stayed up for awhile longer, about a dozen of my squares need to go away. I haven't been buying near as many anymore, getting real hard to find them around here. my problem is the county got on me saying I was running a junkyard and I need to clean up. I still have 10-12 over at other farm tornado damaged back in November I still can't let go of tho. I think in last 3 months I've only found 3 to buy a 78 4x4 stepside, a 77 c30 flatbed and a peace of a 85 K10.

those axles were out of a plain 85 M1008 if that helps any

Well, I really don't HAVE to sell them, but I think it will be the best for everyone. Besides a little cash in my pocket, they won't just be sitting around rotting and not getting used, and I could focus on some other projects. Stuff like my '77 K5 has been getting put off for way too long. If these don't sell, then they don't sell. I might have a use for the Burb one day and maybe eventually I'll have time to put the white K5 together. It could be a really long time though.

Speaking of my '77, you still got that 454 kicking around? I think I'll be home in a couple weeks.

I got a 454 if your interested. It's a gen V block. No mech fuel pump mount. If joe doesn't have the one he had before.

Sent from somewhere in Northern Illinois!

the 454 I put back for you is still in the barn. been meaning to send you a message and see if you still needed it. I've got almost a semi load of 454's layng around. no one seems to want them anymore. I hold onto them because I still run them in the wreckers, but next time around I'm going convert wrecker to a 6.2. 4mpg at todays gas prices leaves no profit. I put a 355 in last wrecker I swapped motor in trying to get better milage. it only gets 5.5 mpg. engine struggles with a empty truck let alone towing a big car

That's why you don't see many squares for tow trucks now days. A good medium duty rollback with a Cummins or Cat, or even a newer 6500 with a Duramax gets 8 mpg loaded or empty. I've even heard of a Duramax truck with 19.5 wheels getting real close to 10mpg.

Many of the racers aren't even wanting 454's, most are either doing 572 Crates on NOS or LS motors on Twin Turbos.
