I've got a buddy who is scrapping his Buick Terraza minivan.

Seems unlikely as it's FWD and transverse mounted, but it did also make it's way into the Monte Carlo.

Is there anyway in heck this would bolt up to a 700R4, or would it require much mucking about? Can't seem to find much info on the engine.

Ah, so this would be the 3500 or 3900 Chevy 60° V6. For swap info into a rwd application, thirdgen.org would be a good place to find info. For generalized swap info and custom parts for that engine, 60degreev6.com would be a good place to look.

There are rwd transmissions with the correct bellhousing bolt pattern.

Also, I really like those engines... but I'm not real sure it would work well in a big truck.

An iron duke is already set up for rwd. If you're going to put something underpowered in, might as well do it right.

Eh, at this point I just keep an eye out for things that might be able to repower it. So if it would need a new trans too, not such a good thing. Thanks guys!

And yes, I will hideously underpower it, but come on, what did an emissions strangled 350 make originally, then add on 30 years of crud.

Yes under powered but it had torque to get the behemoth moving.

I dunno. The 3900 has pretty good grunt all around, I'd say it would be comparable to a smogger 350.

Well if we want underpowered with torque, it's parked beside a rusted out Merc, with a running OM616, and they do make trans adaptors for those :D
