I’ve got an ‘86 c-30 that’s been having power steering issues, currently had the belt off the pump while I waited for parts. I had to pull it around the block with manual steering (& brakes) and as I turned the wheel with some force, something snapped or popped.

Now the wheel sags and wobbles, it’s still firmly attached and the column and tilt steering are as solid as ever. Currently in the process of tearing it down but stopped for now because I don’t have the right tool. does anyone have any insight into what may have broken / come loose?

Here is a video of what I mean

(And with wheel off)

Thanks to anyone who can offer any advice!

If you turn the steering wheel (if it was still attached) do the front wheel turn?

Cant watch the video for some reason, but as a guess there are a pair of white plastic bushings that act kind of like a ujoint in the column. That would be my 1st guess.

I’ll keep an eye out for that once I can get it apart further, thanks!
