So, I have the wiring diagram for how I am going to rewire the headlights on my 86 K10 with the use of relays.

I will be installing the H4 conversion on all 4 light assemblies. I will be using 4 relays with my conversion.

My question: Since dual filament bulbs can be used, can I wire each light up so all 4 are turned on with regular beams and all 4 are turned on with high beams?

Thanks.

I would think having 4 headlights on brights would be bad for oncoming traffic. Those lower HL's would have to be aimed really low. I'd stick with the stock setup. Something else to consider would be available juice to power all 4 high beams.

I did the wire harness (from LMC), and the H4 conversion. The low beams leave something to be desired, the high beams are awesome. I have the stock set-up.

Yes you could wire all 4 low beams to come on at once, but I'm guessing you'd get pulled over a lot for failing to dim your lights since most cops would assume your brights were on.

All 4 lights are on with the high beams from the factory so that won't be a problem.

I think the OP wants all 4 lights to have high beams.

EDIT: I want to convert all mine to use the H4 bulbs from LMC. However, I plan to go from 4 HL's to just 2. Apparently, certain 1987 squares had 2 HL's instead of 4. Not only that, I want to relocate the park lamps from behind the grill. They are just hanging there w/o the lenses.

Yea, all four lights ARE on high when the high beams are on. The top two headlights have a high beam filament AND a low beam filament, while the bottom two lights just have a high beam filament. On the low beam setting just the top headlights low beams are on. On high the four high beam filaments are switched on.

Actually, I want to have all 4 lights on with low beams (low beam filament) and all 4 lights on with high beam (high beam filament).

Once the relays are wired, can I simply splice the low beam wire to the connector of the bottom bulbs low beam filament prong so they work with three low beam setting?

Here is the federal rules which most states abide to:

http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regulations/administration/fmcsr/fmcsrruletext.aspx?reg=571.108

S6.1.3.5.1.1 Where multiple headlamps with single light sources are installed in a vertical orientation the lower beam must be provided by the uppermost headlamp.

S6.1.3.5.1.2 Where headlamps with two vertically oriented light sources are installed the lower beam must be provided by the uppermost light source or by all light sources.

S6.1.3.5.2.1 Where multiple headlamps with single light sources are installed in a horizontal orientation the lower beam must be provided by the most outboard headlamp.

S6.1.3.5.2.2 Where headlamps with two horizontally oriented light sources are installed the lower beam must be provided by the outboard light source or by all light sources.

A be beating a dead horse here, but I would also like all 4 lights to be on with low beams, I'm doing relay upgrade and trying to figure the best way to splice this,
Go from both connectors with a wire to jump the bottoms on while lows are on or wire all four from the relay?

With so many new vehicles equipped with fog/driving lights that are lit along with the low beams, I don't see what the issue would be to have 4 low beam headlights lit up.

Would I run the high beam wire from one relay and the low beam from another and tie all the low beams together at the lights?
So only have three wires, ground, high, and low from all 4 lights right

You must be registered for see images

You must be registered for see images attach

So this is my attempt
The blue is the new light green and the brown is the tan
If I do this to both sides and the brown is high beams and blue low beams all 4 lows should be on in low and all 4 highs will be on in high right?
High and low has their own relay 30 amp for low and 40 amp for high, both fed from battery and the switch is connected to brown for high and light green for lows.
Is this correct so far?

The high beam housings are not low beams, the reflectors are different. They produce more glare because they don't have any glare limiting devices, and they are aimed wrong. You could reaim them but then you don't have high beams.

Most laws allow 4 forward facing lights, but if you live anywhere they pull over for not dimming you could be on trouble. They don't here and I wish they would so I wouldn't get blinded on a daily basis

The housing on a dedicated high beam my be different. However, the dual element housings, like the upper lights on an '87 which function as both are not. Point being, if low beams are allowed in conjunction with driving/fog lights, then I don't see an issue with 4 low beams lit at once. And I know what you mean about areas where they don't pull people over for not dimming, up here I can't drive home from work with out having to stare down the high beams of at least 5 jackasses every night. And it's the same vehicles on a regular basis too. I'm about ready to start adding led bars to my civic.

i do wonder though if maybe 4 low's would be legal, they probably would. but that would be such a rare occurance.

wouldn't more modern style housings be more appropriate. you would be improved beam pattern + brightness. and then really no reason for 4 low beams.
