Brake switch removal

On my 86 gmc I need to replace the brake lite switch. It look like I need to drop the steering wheel to get this done. Am I missing something?

You may be looking at the ignition switch on top of the column, near the firewall. The brake switch is pressed by the brake pedal arm and is easily removable just by standing on your head like this:

I thought this photo (From Hammers Garage on you tube) was hysterical. How many of us have done this?

No, you don't have to do all the disassembly shown, but you do have to get under the column to see it.
