I just purchased a 1978 K10 and now it's time to figure out where to start with the endless projects. It needs a little body work, and some interior work but nothing too serious. My question is it worth while to spray an undercoating on the frame, and can this be done without a full frame off approach. I have attached a picture of the truck for the heck of it.

Looks like a solid start.
Welcome from Oregon.

I would start with the basics, like a simple tune up and oils change.

:welcome: I have seen several folks do the undercoating without a full frame off. Not saying it's a piece of cake but it can be done.

Nice truck!
Personally I wouldn't undercoat unless you plan on driving it in the winter up der in Cheeseland. And at that, I would consider undercoating vs painting everything and then oil coating for winter time operation.

Nice looking truck. You have to be careful with undercoating. Unless it is done properly the undercoating can peel away and allow water/salt/de-icer to then get trapped between the metal and the undercoating.

You might want to check out Fluidfilm. It is a wax/oil mixture that you can blast everywhere under your truck as it isn't harmful to rubber. You can also get a hose/wand attachment and then feed the hose into the panels, tailgate, rockers and coat the insides of the panels and crossbars under the bed.

Some areas will wear off after a year. I try and touch it up before winter every year. I wish I had heard about that stuff 20 years ago before rust really set in to my truck.
