I'm not getting any sound from the blower no matter which speed it's on. .What are the first steps to troubleshoot?
ck out surpluscenter.com they 100s of blower motors make sure it matches .

The in-line fuse holder from the junction block to the blower relay broke on my 1974 Suburban (the ears broke of the side that hold the fuse in). Any suggestions on where I can find a replacement? I already called LMC.

The in-line fuse holder from the junction block to the blower relay broke on my 1974 Suburban (the ears broke of the side that hold the fuse in). Any suggestions on where I can find a replacement? I already called LMC.

Probably just splice in a new blade style fuse from you favorite auto parts store

I decided to go with the Del City 10 Ga 40 Amp Waterproof Blade Fuse Holder (P/N 79110). The leads were long enough to connect to the Junction Block and the 10 Ga orange wire.

So, I'm trying to diagnose an electrical problem on my sons 85 k20. I replaced the alternator and was checking it to make sure it was charging, at idle it was at 13.8 volts as soon as I turned the blower motor to high it went down to 12.3, is that normal for that amount of drop?

Sounds like the alternator is pretty weak. First, make sure the wiring from the alternator to the battery/junction block/whatever is in good shape. Compare voltage at the battery, and at the charge wire stud on the back of the alternator, they should read almost identical. 13.8 volts is on the low side of normal, it’s normal for the voltage to drop momentarily when you turn on the blower motor, but a good alternator should recover quickly.

I have found that the blower motor pulls a very high current when on high speed. With the blower on high and my headlights on, my 12si alternator struggles to keep voltage near 13.8.

So, I have traced the wires from the alternator to the starter solenoid, everything looks ok there. I started tracing the bundle of wires going from the brown "exciter" wire and red BAT wire goes behind the block and into a bundle of wires. I'm new to the wiring and square body life. Is there a junction block behind the engine block that I can't see? (Still trying to make sure everything is good before I replace the alternator.) Working on an '85 K20

Ok, I thought so. Has a couple of red wires in and a wire out to the blower motor. That's what I'm finding. This truck has become a damn nightmare trying to figure out the wiring. Thanks for the reply.

I'll get some pictures when I get off of work tonight. Another question, should I be running a 94 amp alternator or a 78 amp? The parts house is calling for the 78 amp, but shows a 94 amp option. The truck came with A/C, but it's disconnected. It does have a couple of 500 watt amps in it though.
