Not sure what to call it. All I know is it is to catch the air and funnel it onto the back window to keep the dust off it.
Not sure if it's factory squarebody parts or not, but it came off a 78 Jimmy.
Almost a spoiler, but going the wrong direction.
For sale if anybody would want such a thing.

I've always just called them a rear wing or deflector.

That one looks really nice. It's a factory/dealer type too.

Yeah, it's in perfect condition.

Oh, so it is a "factory" add on. I was wondering.

Do they help keeping the snow off the back window? If I'm driving in the snow my back window gets covered in a very short amount of time.

It won't keep the glass perfectly clean, but it does make a considerable difference compared to without.

It's called an air deflector. It's function had nothing to do with keeping dust off the rear window although that may be a side benefit. It was to create an airflow to prevent the exhaust from being sucked into the cab when driving with the rear glass in the open position. I had one on my 78 Jimmy.

Oooh, okay. Did not know that.
I does keep snow and dirt from collecting back there, but that makes sense.

Whatever the original intent was, in most cases they do a better job at keeping the tail clean than keeping exhaust fumes from coming in the rear window. It's why you see them on barn door Burbs too.
