3.42s would be a better choice in my opinion. You wouldn’t need a new carrier then either.

I always loved the 3.23 in my T/A, that's a great gear but it's not for drag racing.

Half a mile away.... Lol

I guess I shift faster.
She ran the quarter in 10.97 at 127.3 mph. Not to shabby for just a little over stock.

The 8.5 10 bolt carrier break 2.56/2.73, but 3.42 is a much less doggy option.

I agree. I have 3.42 now but with the price of gas I may go back to a 3.08 or perhaps the 3.23.
I wish they had something like a 3.16 or so. Something MOR to the 3.08 and 3.23.

So I’m going to be pulling the trigger on a 700r4 rebuild. Found a rainbow case, 1990 year. I talked to HotrodPC and he recommended using these upgrades. Vette servo, transgo jr shift kit, 3/4 alto clutch pack, wider band 1/2 clutch, beast shell, .050 pump boost valve. Only question is there a good tcc lock up kit to use or will any do? Also, what TC would you recommend?

I won’t be doing the rebuild, having a reputable shop in town do the rebuild. I figured going this route instead of rebuilding the th350, different size tires, and/or gears is the best bet.

I don’t tow it haul, I wanted an OD tranny.
