My BIL got a pad for his c10 from lmc and neither one of us was impressed by the quality. After reading this thread, I'm going the local route on my c20 when the interior gets its turn.
What are you doing locally? Tossed the original out but can go to a pick and pull and buy a core. Really sounds like if someone made a decent pad, they could sell everyone they made. These things aren't rocket science.

I purchased the best one from Classic Industries 4 years ago for my '85 K10 that has sat in the garage and had maybe an hour of daylight over this time, it's delaminating and has a large bubble near where it wraps around the gauge cluster on the right side. It never fit that great from day one. In their defense though, my garage does get over 130 degrees in the summer often, it's brutal in there.

Been saving old dash cores and the wife keeps talking she is going figure out how to recover them. After seeing some of them at shows, they can come out great and fit.

One of the trucks I bought, the guy said he had some stuff in the shed for it. I didn't think much of it at the time but it was a filthy grey dash pad, got it home, set it aside, week or two later actually looked at it, its a never installed, NOS, out of box pad that needs painted. None of the mounting holes had been poked through yet. I am not sure what I am going to do with it, it's not mint, shop worn but never installed. The edges are beginning to curl around the vin and vent areas so it's been kicking around for a while.

Interesting up-front disclaimer from Cheyenne----"If you are looking for a perfect dash pad, this is not the dash pad for you. We have tried to make the best reproduction part and still be cost effective. However, we are always dealing with multiple variables with the vinyl, foam, temperature, and humidity, so perfection will never be obtained. If you are looking for flaws, you will probably find flaws. If you are looking for the best fitting and best overall quality dash pad with the most original look, this is the dash pad for you.om Cheyenne."

I need one also. Doesn't sound promising to find a decent one. Tossed the old one. It really surprises [or disappoints] me that parts can't be reproduced correctly. All they have to do is copy an original.

I know the Mustang folks would give a small fortune for a correct appearing pad, not to mention antenna, hood trim or door panels.

I have my original 86 dash if you want it. Few cracks and crusty speaker holes. I’m in Spokane every couple weeks.
But I need to get my new one in before tossing the old one. Waiting on trim parts.

Thanks for the offer. Am going to try Cheyenne or USA1 for a replacement. Hoping for feedback before I cut the new one I have in 1/2.

Cut the new dash in 1/2. Hope I get the money back. Will report here what happens.

There are some previous comments on USA1 being decent quality. Giving them a try, ordered one yesterday.

I hope that worked out for you. USA-1 gave me an update on my dash pad saying it is scheduled to ship October 3. That will make it 16 weeks since my order went in. I'll post a picture when it arrives.

If I had it all over again from the start. I would have never got a replacement pad. Fix the one you have or be unimpressed or pissed off like those of us who did not rebuild the oem pad.
Eric
Seems to be the common theme. Someone glued carpet cover over mine, and it's great for holding screws whilst im working on something, but I want a cleaner look now. I think imma repair mine myself. Looks like fun work and rewarding. I'll post pics when I get the time to rebuild.

I just got confirmation on shipping my seat cover that I ordered in June from them.

Strip down to bare metal, apply new high density foam and re-cover in vinyl.
