Best mud tire?

I hate bias ply for a daily driver. Till they warm up the flat spots make you feel like you're riding a trampoline. Those Destination MTs are nice. I had a set of Bridgestone Dueler MTs years ago in 33x12.5 and they worked great too, similar tread pattern but I don't think they make them anymore. Bad thing is all the radials I've seen are thin sidewall so they can't take much trail abuse. I cut a giant gash through the sidewall of one of the rear Dueler MTs digging 2WD trenches in soft sandy creek bottom. I've heard good things about Interco SSR radials being long lasting on pavement for a mud tire and has nice sidewall lugs.

I am no "mall crawler" and my truck don't pose for nuthin but pix.
That said i'm no mud dog neither..QQ
It's my WORK TRUCK and it goes where I tell it to. That's it's job.
I have been VERY impressed with the capability of the FIRESTONE Destination MT.

They are LOUD but I can't get it stuck.

This is the mud tire that gets my blazer through the deep stuff , it sucks they dont make them anymore.

I like the toyo mt , they do well in most all conditions and seem to last fairly well . I have the bfg km2's on my new truck and they are lasting good as well but they are loud as hell and suck in the snow , the toyo's are a better tire imo. The big mudder's are loud , soft around corner's but they go anywhere in the bad stuff .

This is kind of like a best oil thread. Let's of opinon mixed in with personal experience. I'd say do some research and go with something that has a good warranty and a wide spread brand name and buy from a reputable seller so that if there is a problem wherever you are they can take service the issue or replace the tire no matter where you are. It's not often the tire goes bad while sitting at home but more rather while you are driving somewhere, like family trip for the holidays. Murphy's law dictates that's when it will happen, lol.

If you need a tire for mud and for snow I'd recommend the Goodyear Duratrac. You need to have some sipes in the tread for ice/hard pack snow. But too many sipes and then the tire will pack up in mud and not clean. This tire has wide lugs on near the sides for deep snow or mud. The center is more tightly grouped treadblocks for almost like an all terrain tire.
The sidewalls can be a bit weak according to some.

I bought a set of mud claw blemished tires for my son's truck . 815 bucks. 35x16. They have a little over 20k miles and are about half gone. They work well in the mud and aren't very loud on the street. I would recommend them to anyone.
