I've never seen control arm bushings that didn't have rubber or poly in them.

We had metal bushings in the race car, but ride quality is not something you're looking for in a race car. It was built that way because you don't want the suspension geometry to change when the suspension loads and unloads, which any non-solid bushing will do.

The lower bushings were also a spherical design to prevent binding.

Sorry if all of this has been explained before. It's an older thread and I didn't re-read it.

You should probably start a new thread for your transmission question, you'll probably get more input. My answer on your 4l80 question, is it depends on what gear you have and how many rpm your turning on the highway.

whoa there buddy. I know you're most likely on a smart phone or something, but this isn't a txt msg with your buddy, this is still the actual internet with strangers who don't know what you are saying. What did you grease instead of change? What does that mean? Do you mean you were wrong in thinking your old truck had bearings instead of steel bushings? Or do you mean you just greased the rubber bushings you have and now you don't want to change them to bearings? Also, not sure what that has to do with your transmission. If you want transmission advice, I would suggest asking that question in a thread about transmissions, not suspension bearings... Nobody who is not currently in this thread will know you even asked about your transmission by looking at the title, the whole forum here isn't watching every letter you type.
