so looks like you can rig something up that goes on the cylinder to throw that plate up and down. Looks like you're just missing that part. doesnt seem like LMC has the part tho.

Yeah, I just realized the finger button pushes the plate which turns the latch mechanism and pulls the rods. Just need to get the lock situated.

Is this what yours look like @RawkerStatus ?

I believe so. I'll take a picture when i get home. I remember checking doors and slid it into the locked position and kicking myself in the ass because now I have to crawl through the back to unlock it. I lived in Orange County, CA and I don't believe in unlocked doors.

I'm sure it was. I can make a piece but I don't know how it attaches to the lock mechanism. It doesn't have any threads for a nut or grooves for a C-clip or holes for a cotter pin lol I'm assuming it was one of those spring nuts that just push on and dig in but no one sells stuff to fix these. LMC sells the latches and rods for the 80's cargo doors but no the 70's.

The pic you posted shows a washer and nut but I think that's to fasten the lock mechanism to the door. Mine uses a clip like the brake hoses.

@bucket You have a 70's Burb, correct? Cargo doors? If so, can you pop the panel off and take a pic of the inside locking mechanism?

Mine is a tailgate model. I had a barn door Burb several years ago and was in the rear door a couple times. I remember removing some parts to get my doors to work in hack-tastic fashion, I don't know what bits and pieces I have left over. I need to look.

after a bunch of reasearch its called a Door Lock Pawl. I can find it for the front doors but not the barn door. i might just order one and make it work... or just rig something up.

I don't know, but you might want to check out van barn doors, they could use the same parts.
