Did I miss something I don't think I've seen the pics of the bridge installed or did I somehow skip over them?

some pics of the new bridge/upper bag mounts. I still need to finalize boxing them in, re routing the tail light harness and the rear brake line.

It of course would have been alot easier to install this along with the rear bags with the bed removed......but.....where there's a will...there's a way.

It amazes me how weak the frames are in these trucks. I plan to box the inner sides of the rear section well beyond the bridge.

Well they do have a lot of flex. I didn't want to box mine and have it fill up with mud so I plated the inside with 3/16" plate and bolted it fast with existing holes as well as the spring hangers it stiffened it up way more then it was.

That's my plan. I want to stiffen the rear section a bit more since the bags at side to side will put additional strain on the frame

They were designed to flex back then. It's funny how design ideas change over time. I've seen videos of some of these old squares so twisted up on a trail, you'd have though they used a slinky for a frame. lol

Careful how you stiffen it and how much , as CSFJ said they were made to flex, stiffen up one section only can cause a stress point.

Yeah...I am not planning on going overboard, just boxing a few areas to clean up the space.

Any finished product photos? This is the route I plan to go in the near future.

The headers when the air is dumped lay on the ground. The lower cross member is 1/4" from touching the pavement

sorry for the crappy pics, I recently had all of my pics erased from my tablet due to a factory reset.
