Would the best way to store window glass/windshields is to build a wooden box til its needed again?

I dont have garage rafters. My garage has drywall in the ceiling.

I just know you're supposed to store glass upright. Not supposed to lay it down since it's more likely the break or crack that way. Best to keep it sitting on it's edge like it's carried in glass racks or glass trucks.

What if I made a glass rack with a little tilt on it so I can stand if up on it. Its for a front and rear windshield.

This sounds familiar. I've had more than one "talking to" about when I'll be moving some miscelaneous part from our living area and out into the garage I'm also known to polish wheels in our living room so that I can watch TV while I do it
