Never been down to it, so I'm thinking of checking it out.

Tim
I went a year or two ago and it was great. Lots and lots of cool cars and booths with lots of junk and some sprinkled in hidden gold.

@Catbox is right there in the area and seems to have made it there many more times than I have... I've seen some pics form him with quite the collection of junkyard gold headed home in the back of his truck

Love this swap meet.
If you have never been to it, you should go.
You should also budget yourself at least two days to peruse all that there is to see.
There is the upper show at the Expo center and the lower show that is spread out over the entirety of Portland International Raceway.
I / we have found tons of great deals at these things.

This is the complete B&M truck shifter we picked up for a massive $10 for the $500 shifter.

A 570cfm Holley in like new condition for $75 and the Edelebrock Performer RPM Big Block intake for $225.

These are Magnaflow catalytic converters that are 3 inch and off a newer Mustang.
They retail for around $1500 each and I got the pair for a whole $40.

It was raining and this was on the ground in the dollar pile of a guy that just had some random stuff.
For a buck I was sure I wasn't going to loose out.
It turns out that the bezel it was mounted in was for my kids 1949 truck.
And what do you know, it works like a champ as junior took it and uses it in his truck.

I saw these for $10 each and bought them.
Do I need them, no as I do not have a turbo Buick.
But I have the hub caps to one.

We have gone for probably the last 12 years or so. Always enjoyed it. Last year noticed that the Expo Center one was maybe only 50-60% of the booths that were there before. The lower parking lot was now just parking (used to be all booths), and the buildings were pretty empty compared to years past. The PIR meet was still going strong though.

Our haul from a rainy day at the track.
The wagon and the shopping cart are full.
The headers in the cart are for a Dart with a BB and retail for right at $1000.
The kid with us that bought them, he paid $80.

@Catbox I love your reason for buying and continuing to own the Grand National center caps, lol. I can most definitely relate.

It is going to be a busy week for sure.
The Portland Winterhawks are in the first round of playoff hockey and there are 3 home games this week to attend.
Plus the swap meet for 2 days at the end of the week.

I bought a trike for myself to be able to pedal around the PIR portion of the swap meet on Saturday.
Towards the end of going around the track it has always been a long haul to get it finished and then out to the truck.
Hopefully this will make it better for us, as I am sure we will all take turns.

Some of the characters are the fun part to watch though.

The old codgers that are searching for that one specific rusty bolt for one of his 27 different projects.
And will talk the sellers ear off while I try to ask a question for 5 minutes before I just put it down and walk away.

It is a tough test, but it is fun as we all like to go and oogle parts and find the deals.
Less than a week away. I'm starting to get excited!
We will probably be stopping at Banning's Pie House for breakfast before we head to the swap on either day.
I haven't figured out when the crew will be meeting up just yet, but if you are interested I can let you know.

Thank you for the invite, but I'll be scrambling to get to the PIR meet as quick as I can on Friday directly after I drop my wife off at the airport, so probably won't have time for a pre-swap meetup. Friday is now my only available day for going this year, so I'm trying to get there as early as possible to fit in as much as I can.
