I found a great donor bed for my 79 long bed c10. This bed is in solid but the tops of the bed rails have dozens of dents in them on both sides. The bed came from a base work truck so it was probably used to haul ladders, hand equipment and tools. Anyway, has anyone done any fixes for this kinda of repair?

Either straighten or with filler? Any pics would be appreciated.

thanks, btw, once it on my dads truck, I'm going to install some rails that should keep it from taking a beating going forward.

I've fixed a lot of dented bed rails. Use an electric dent puller (or the type that welds on temporary studs) and get the metal back into shape as much as possible. Low spots on top often cause high spots on the crease, those will need worked down as the dents are worked out. Then prep with a grinder, feather with a DA and apply a skim coat of filler.
