Any cb’s that would fit in the radio slot?

Couldn't a regular phone hand set from the period work and be wired into any cb? I've got one or two 70s rotary phones.

Can’t see it in the pic but the handset has a “push to talk” button on it that regular phones didn’t have.

No, not without some modifications. It's possible to create a "remote" PTT switch either in the handset or say down on a shift knob or some such arrangement.
