Hello folks, new guy here on the forum but I'm old enough to have grown up in the age of the squarebody long before anybody called them that. My truck is a 79 Scottsdale I inherited from my late father, a truck he bought new in Portland in 1980 and then drove up the Alaska highway with my brother, taking turns sleeping and driving so they could do the trip in less than 3 days. Now it has passed into my hands, memories intact, but other parts need some work!
I have some tasks ahead of me, there are some rust spots that need attention, the brakes are kinda touchy, more switch than control, the interior needs to be redone and most immediate, the heater Box needs a cleanout. I expect to fond dead mice that drowned in their own urine. I took the bride out for a drive to the dump and the dump smelled better.
It will be good to dig around under the hood again.... and swap out the quadrajunk for something Better. I would like to pass this one down to my kids, but I'm in no hurry to do so.
And now to wander around the site. Cheers all!
