Hey everyone, member returning again after about a year of the projects being on hold. I recently picked up a 79 C10 Big 10 project to go along with my current 76 K20.

I've got big plans and will definitely need help along the way, but this place is definitely a great resource with lots of great members!

Welcome back! I'm sorry but I don't remember your user name, and I would had our paths crossed. I'm not sure of your age, but 76 gas stations used the slogan "Get in the spirit, the spirit of 76", from 1976 until I think 91ish. Not only did they have some very catchy commercials back in the day, but I worked for them. Not when that was their slogan but years later at a service station that is closed now, but in the back there was all kinds of memorabilia from that time period. Pretty cool stuff, but I have none of it.

Welcome back. Cool projects. Are you going to do them one after another or at the same time (Would this be a project 3some?) ? ;D

I will let you know, but apart from a junk engine I don't know that I'll be getting rid of anything else. Unfortunately the previous owner pretty much stripped the interior so I am in search of parts as well [emoji38]

Well, I'm torn right now on what direction I want to go. I think I want to swap the c10 body onto the k20's frame and interior since it's got a good running motor and trans but junky body.

On the other hand, they're both titled trucks and the big 10 is more uncommon so it'd be kind of a shame to modify it like that. I was actually gonna make a post to get some feedback on that!

Thanks!

When I made this name it was inspired by the special edition "Spirit of 76" chevy they made for the bicentennial that year. What a coincidence though!

I'll admit, the truck is about 16 years older than me but I watched the commercials and you were right. I'm not sure what it is about old commercials but they're very... comforting I guess. Almost nostalgic even though I wasn't alive back then!
