Installed some on a base model 77. Pain in the dick. The original trim pieces are thin enough as is, but the LMC stuff is even thinner and super prone to bending/kinking/creasing etc. so if you’re not super careful and meticulous with your instal, you’ll def F em up.
When it was time to drill the holes for the clips, I wanna say it needed like a 7/16 or 1/2 drill bit. Legitimately felt terrible drilling out big ass holes in original metal.
i can’t speak for you, but I’m somewhat of a purist when it comes to **** like this. If you’re going to put that body trim on, you might as well go ahead and change the fender badges to a higher level trim package...and then do the same with the interior trim pieces to match.
I honestly try to talk customers out of doing **** like this for purity sake. It’s your truck so do whatever you want, but I like em close to 100% original as possible
edit: oh and I def mentioned to the customer, that his year truck had a special one-off colored trim being a 77 and all...so not only did he insist on adding superfluous ****, but also didn’t care about doing it in a nonperiod correct manner. Same fella also didn’t want his original grille (swapped for a plastic chrome billet style), and didn’t want any of the other original interior pieces he had me replace with LMC ****...so not only did i make a few grand off restoring most of this guys truck, I also got all his perfectly usable, driver quality, original grille, door panels, sunvisors, arm rests, dash bezel and some other **** lol
