Access panel in inner fender

So I know this comes off but why ? I’m thinking to get to the fender emblem nuts ?

It does not come off, it's tacked to the wheel well liner. It's just a reinforcement plate.

Huh never thought of that . Mine was rusty so cut it out and made a new one

^^^^^^ Yep, that's what they do. Not perimeter welded, so all kinds of stuff gets in behind and rusts out

Yea, they always rust out. I figured it came off since there are bolts on the outside but found out at the junk yard they don’t come off. I wasn’t sure why and when a part is giving me trouble I just leave it alone and move on at the yard, not worth busting a knuckle or tool. I guess I will be welding patches on both sides.
