Hey now,
I am nearing the end of what has been a very lengthy overhaul on my burb. Now that the mechanical repairs are (mostly) complete, I am moving on to sealing the cab up prior to installing a vapor barrier, insulation, flooring, and electrical components. I am hoping to end up with a relatively efficient vapor barrier in order to avoid condensation forming from heated cabin air contacting thermal bridges to outside air.
Down the road I am going to order all the body components that need replacing (rockers etc) but for now I am treating the rust to stop the spread, and sealing up seams that are leaking so the new materials don't end up with puddles underneath them
last night I started removing the seam sealant from the pillar seams at the roof. I dremeled them out. I am almost positive that the p.o. filled them all in with some form of white caulk as it has been running down and leaving deposits on the body panels since I got the truck.
I applied rustoleum rust converter in the seams, and was about to fill them with seamsealant when I noticed the drain/weep holes inside. Is there even a remote possibility that these seams are meant to remain open? Otherwise this hole would be filled in.
Couple more trouble areas but I'll put them in as comments so I don't lose what I've typed so far. My phone **** the bed and I'm using my fire tablet which gets kinda quirky
