It's 18 degrees out. I went out and fired up Silvy, cold start. Started surging really bad then cut off. Fired up a few times after that and now nothing. Spark is good. Not getting fuel. Been texting with Andy/ @bucket. If I dump fuel in the TBI she fires up. So fuel pump took a **** or the tube on the pump split. I hear the pump relay working normally. I don't have a pressure tester. Going to find my measurements and cut open an access panel in the floor and check it out. **** me.

******* nice warm shop at work about 200 yards away. No way to get it over there. I'm tearing into this now and will take pics.

For my reference:

18" from the rear lip of the floor pan to the back edge of the fuel pump ring/hole.

I cut my panels a few inches wider to the left side, just to give a little more working room. Then of course add a flange around the removed panel to screw it back down.

Yeah it was the pump. Yeah Bucket I had to cut a few more inches open on the left. So fuggin cold I put the camera away and just went apeshit to try and get it done. I have a section of floor from the '89 to make a panel that will fit over that hole. I may even use the section I cut out as a backing to it so it kind of seats itself into the hole and is a stronger patch. Took me about 1 1/2 to 2 hours to cut the hole, swap the pumps and fire it up.Thats including running a shop vac most of the time to suck up loose dirt and stones and **** while I was hammering the hold down ring off the pump flange.

Weld in some of the pieces around the edge, making a flange. Lay Your piece from the other burb into the hole so it sets flush and screwum down. Makeum easily removable down the road for the just in case..

I'm going to take the panel from the other Burb and cut it bigger than the hole. Then drill some holes in the area that the bottom panel will seat on it. Then center the cut out pieces the bottom of it and spot weld them through the drilled holes. That should make a nice, solid and snug fitting cover. Maybe use some self tapers on the outer flange to hold it down just to keep @HotRodPC happy. :gathering:

Then in the spring pop that panel off and spray some POR15 under there all around. :waytogo:
