On 94 gm I have hvac controls glitch, on 98 also had to rewire hvac controls, and on a 2000 had hvac controls issue in addition to gauges. There is a pattern with gm and electronic hvac controls at least in trucks I worked with

Yeah that'd be ideal.
If you're talking about a square, there is no point in lengthening a short bed. They made far more of the long bed models, that would be a far cheaper buy in than a shorty. If you're talking about a newer body, the short beds were never made to do what you're asking from it. Find a 3/4 ton 8' box and be done with it.

6.5 Turbo diesel in a square, are they good?
Can I hear about more problems from 99-07 Chevys, 94 to 06 Rams, 88-98 Chevys

Also I need some really good reasons to by another Square, really good reasons I have to get this by my parents. Thanks!

My Grandpa had the same problems and brakes too. He has a 2000, 2500, Ext. Cab, 4x4, long box, 6.0 V8, and medium gear ratio.

Honestly, the only thing the Rams had going for them was the Cummins. I hated everything else about my '99. Destroyed one auto and after $3k with a $1k torque converter, finally held up to my foot. In 7 years I replaced every damn part in the front end at least twice and I was only running 285's. Only had it steer straight for maybe one month out of all the work I did. Rear axle wasn't too bad, but blew the ring gear out the back of that too. If I had the money, I would snag a 5.9 Cummins and drop it in my square, not sure what trans I would use but would definitely need 1 ton axles to hold up. Fuel mileage was great, in a 3/4 ton quad cab long bed unloaded on the freeway, got 22 consistent, 14 loaded or towing. And yes, was not stock, lots of mods to it, but all within reason.
As to the Chevys/GMC's, hated when they went to IFS, rode like a car, but offroad was worthless compared to an old straight axle.

Many of you may know that I had to sell off my Square :whymewhyme:. Now I'm looking for a newer truck, mostly because my parents.

88-98 Chevys I want to know if after 100k miles you've had electrical problems in the truck.

99-02 Chevys, anything I need to know before I purchase them?

94-01 Rams what are some problems?

5.3 vs 6.0 Vortecs, whats your favorite?

Does a 1 ton with a 350 consume more gas than a 1/2 ton?

Can a flatbed articulate the same way a OEM style bed can?

Is the distance from the seat to the pedals increase between the 1500 to the 2500 to the 3500.

1. Yes, and 95's are all bastardized in many ways. 98-00 have faulty injectors, I've also busted a frame on one.

2. Transfer case pump rub WILL happen and you will put a transfer case in it, point blank period. You'll also replace brake lines, and possibly the ABS module. The gage cluster goes all wonky doodle in them too.

3. Ride like ****, at this point have wasted suspension bushings so you'll get death wobble for one of 57,689 reasons, and the transmissions **** the bed.

4. Neither, both suck for towing and get **** mileage, buy whichever is low mileage and cheaper.

5. Yes, because it probably has 3.73's or 4.10's in it, and every driveline component is larger and heavier.

6. No clue

7. Nope, same cabs.

95's just have a ton of oddball parts. They have interiors like the 96-99, but not quite the same, there's some difference in the engine wiring also. I drove a 95 around for like 3 months, it was a fine truck, but I'd pick another year if I could.

Nothing out of the ordinary about a 94. TBI, 4L60E, should be simple and reliable.

I didn’t say I liked it lol it’s a reliable engine from what my Mopar friends say. It’s a mule not overly powerful but fairly simple. Dodge and automatics are not a good combination though lol

C20 all the way. Yes it’s half the truck the dodge is body wise but it’s still twice the truck that dodge ever was or will be even missing the bed.
