Hello all. Finishing up build on 1987 V10 4x4 350 TBI. This was an abandoned project so I might be missing componenets. A two wire connnector on passenger side with pink/black [439] and dk green/yellow [428] wires not plugged into anything and there is nothing within its reachable range that I can see that it would plug into. Truck has headers, no pollution pump, aftermarket aircleaner, aftermarket a/c, dakota gauges. Need to know what this connector would go to. The wiring diagram I have says the [439] goes to IGN 1 PWR INPUT and the [428] to Cannister Purge.

On the driver side, I have a connector with a single greenwire, and a two wire connector with both wires going into it are green. Same question, not sure if I am missing a sensor or component. I cant find either of these connectors on my wiring diagram.

Thanks, Jason

Isn’t the single green wire for a tach signal?

Thats a possibility. Ill check that, I have dakota gauges including tach and its possible they have their own wire for the tach. My Dakota tach is working so maybe thats the leftover factory tach feed. Thanks.

Aside from not knowing where that wire goes, is there any reason to find out where it would go? If there are no symptoms of a problem, then I would have a beer and call it a day. Vehicles sometimes had extra wires on a harness because that model uses the same harness as a model that has more options. So the extra plugs are just ... extra. For example - Its easier to make and install a wiring harness that works for A/C and non A/C cars and install that same harness on all the rigs. So the rigs without A/C have extra plugs that are not used. So a rig might have plugs for fog lights, even though the car doesn't have the fog lights, relays, or switches to activate them. Build 1 wiring harness that covers everything or build 23 different versions of the harness without knowing exactly how many units of each type will actually be needed.
