So I ran the square down to the UPS store yesterday to send a package. It is about 12 miles. New motor ran great, temps normal. Was inside prolly 15 minutes, came out turned key, no go. Motor labored to turn over like it was hot? Hood up not hot everything seemed normal. Sat in the truck and waited 20 minutes. Motor rolled right over and started like normal???

Ran the square home, parked it, turned it off. Truck restarted immediately with no issues.

Anyone have any opinions on issue? Gremlin?

Thanx in advance
Eric

Heat soaked starter?

That was my first thought, F-bodies used to do that a lot because the exhaust was too close to the starter. Do you have headers?

Or yeah it could always be some wonky electrical connection

That would be a no on the headers. Heat soaked starter? Meaning it just got hot? I can check the connections easy enough. Solution for starter?

You may try a voltage drop test on the starter wire.

Issue was resolved. 2 1/2 qts. low in the auto trans. I am guessing heat built up? Never happened again.

Might not be the same issue, but I had filled up one day and then the next couldn't get it started until an hour later. Happened two days in a row. turned out to be a tank of bad gas. could be a similar problem for you?

Doesn't sound like that's he case here. But something to keep in mind for those random "no start" scenarios that don;t seem to add up to anything else..

Definitely. I’m just not getting how a low oil level in the transmission would cause a no start. Air, fuel and spark. That’s really the only things.
