Well thought i would start a thread showing my new project i picked up the other day. I found it on good old craigslist for $500 its a complete truck with a realy straight body and a ton of extra parts. The engine in the truck was just rebuilt but after put in the truck it never got finished up. It has a 2.8 V6 with a five speed. After looking at the truck i talked the guy down to $400, so i loaded it up and brought her home.

Anyways thats how it looks right now but it wont look like that for long. i have already got new parts in and more are on there way. my plan for it is to pull the motor and trans out and put in my small block with a better five speed behind it. i ordered a swap kit and have already got them in.

This is great, I hope we see some more SB GM projects pop up in here besides full size trucks. My cousin had an S-10 long bed with a 305. It is very hard to find S-10's and S-15's of that era around my way. Thanks for sharing the project here.

Well thanks everyone for the positive input! I think it will be fun and shouldnt take too long to get on the road. My tail light came in today.

And I made a trip to my favorite salvage yard and pick up a few thing. The dash in the truck is all busted up so I ended up finding one that was in perfect shape and paid $20 for it. I also picked up a center console out of a later model s10 for $20 and a passenger side window guide for $2.

Everything is dirty but in perfect shape I was very pleased.

Got me a new daily driver not too long ago, I never posted anything about it. It is a 2008 silverado four door 4wd. I lifted the front two inches and put my old wheels and tires on it which are a set of 18" boss wheels with a set of 32" bf Goodrich a/t ko tires. I also put a 40 series flowmaster on it and got me a hypertech econ programmer.

Where did you get your swap kit from?

I had a pair of those same buckets before. They were in my old '77 K5 when I bought it and I never figured out what they came from. It drove me nuts that I never could figure it out, lol.

Oh yeah, if you are sticking with the stock cable driven speedo, I have a factory tach cluster that will work (after calibrating the tach for the V8).

I bought the swap kit off eBay, a buddy of mines dad used the same one and said it worked perfect. It was $180 with $20 shipping. The seats are awesome looking seats in my opinion they came from a 2000 ish jeep grand Cherokee. And as for the tach and speedo I haven't decided which route I am going yet it mainly depends on which transmission I end up going with.
