86&87 fuel sending units

Doing a LS swap on a 86 gmc and need to buy a sending unit anyways. Wondering if a 87 sending unit will fit in a 86 tank so I can run the intank pump. If not I will just run a on frame pump. Thanks

yes they will fit in the 86 tanks BUT the 86 tanks don't have sumps / baffles in them so you will run the risk of losing suction and damaging the pump.
