Awe man that sounds like a sweet burb gone to hell, should offered him $500 for it just to save it before he destroyed it I wonder if it was the color combo hotrod was looking for??? The burnt orange/ lighter tan??? I know what yea mean if my boss had my truck the thing would be a rattle canned flat black bondo buggy right now, everybody thinks its a peice of ****, it might look like it but I see the potential and when I start getting some work done to it when it warms up hopefully the ppl around me see that too for now I just bite my tongue lol I was even told to paint it camoflouge by a coemployee when I first got it lmao
Heres what I would do, assuming I didnt have to worry about passing emissions:I know what you guys mean about keeping originals, well, original. And any thing I do to my truck I try to make sure it's reversible. But my truck wasn't as nice as it sounded with 36,600 on it. The paint was oxidized like crazy the trim was messed up it ran like crap and a lot of the interior had to be replaced. I have made it a ton better and I really appreciate the original factor it has. Gonna keep the original paint and sure won't hack the metal. But I'm Open to some engine performance mods, lift, exhaust, stereo etc that can be reversed someday for originalitys sake. I agree it is sad to see perfectly good classics hacked and ruined.
