Hi I'm new to this site, bought an 85 dually from one of the county garages , it has 13000 on a rebuilt 6.2 and I'm not liking it
I would like to swap it out out with maybe a 454 gas as I'm not fond of all the diesel noises and the fuel oil thing. Just wondering if a 454 will bolt up to my existing automatic?

Hello & welcome from Central NC. You can replace the Detroit with a 454 for certain. You will need another torque converter (if auto) & the proper brackets for the P/S pump as your dually has hydroboost brakes. There will be other "smalls" that you encounter but it's not a terrible swap.

Howdy from Ohio!

How long have you had it? If you drive it a bit more, you may find that you actually like the 6.2, along with it's economy.

^^^^ this. You'll spend 1/3 on fuel as you will if you big block swap. And a 6.2 will pull anything you put behind it.
