Needs to have come from a truck with california emissions and a 700R4. The service number for the ECM is 1226865. Let me know what you have.

And don't anyone mistake this for the ESC ECM. In Cali by this time they had electronic carbs with AF Mixture Solenoid. This will be CCC, aka Computer Command Control system IIRC.

I appreciate it but its my understanding I cant use a V6 ECM. I`m still trying to verify that it has to be 85-86 truck only with a 305 or 350.

Not 100% certain, but almost, that an 84 ECM will work too so long as it's a Cali truck. They too had the Electronic Quadrajet with the AF Mixture Solenoid.

I can't think of a reason the V6 ECM won't work. To the best I can recall, the ECM for the CCC just controlled Electronic Spark Control with the knock sensor, and the AF Mixture Solenoid on the E Carb. If his had the E Carb too, I'd think it would work. All its for is advancing and retarding spark advance though the ICM and the AF mixture. Those items don't have anything to do with the # of the cylinders. Maybe I can find something, IF I can find my old CCC GM book.

It appears 85 El Camino and other G Bodies, like Monte Carlo, Grand Prix etc will have that ECM, and so will F Bodies, Camaro and Firebird so long as they are 305cu in engines. I can see now how the PROM chip will be different in the V8 and the V6. Hopefully expanding what you're looking for one in other models will help you locate that exact part #.
