In 1986 Oklahoma had a huge snow storm, 18" of snow on the ground. My dad owns a mens clothings store (suits, ties, Polo shirts). Well he was freaking out because he was not able to get to work in the snow! So he got out the classifieds and found an 1984 K-10 30 miles away. He called the guy and the guy said he would have it delivered next week. "Nope, I want it today... Why do you think you were getting full asking price, cash in hand". The guy said no way, the roads were not even open. Well 30 min later the guy called back "cash in hand?" My dad got to work that day, and I have killed more duck, deer, bass, and who knows what else with that truck. When I moved home after school I got her running (sat for 10 years). A few years back dad gave it to my for my Birthday.
I am planning on doing a full body off restoration, even thought I don't have a clue how! I have a few buddies who do, and looking forward to the project.
Likely more questions than answers as to how and what but as of now I planning on:
383 stroker (still back and forth on the LS, but I think the 383)
small 2-4" lift
33-35" tires
"Bed-liner" paint job
Fix a lot of rust
Single fuel tank
Who knows what else, I am quite sure there will be a lot. Basically turn it into the ultimate duck truck. Something that works fine as a daily driver, but get my kids out to the duck blinds!
