80 Sterring box fitting

I seem to recall that the steering box in 80 trucks may have had oddball fittings.

I did a double take when i looked at the box fitting and the metric 18 o-ring to 6an fitting that you are supposed to use on 80 and up steering boxes. All my other o-ring style fittings have tones of open depth.
measurements are so tight that i don't want to crush the floating ball / screen.

Can anybody confirm if the picture of the high pressure port is different on newer steering boxes?

Pre 80 is standard flare fitting end 80 and newer is 18mm which is same as any new style box.. i used all 98 s10 steering pump and lines on mine to convert to type 2 pump..
