79 k20 fit 86 k10?

I've never done an axle swap. Do you think the swap will be an even swap or will mods be required? I'm guessing it's 8 lug so I'll have to change rims/tires.

Plan is to hack up the frame to use as a test frame for the 5.3 install, and also change from 3.08 gears to 3.73 on the K10. Sell all the other stuff to make up for it....Hopefully they still have it as it's 2 months old.

14 bolts , (as long as they are not 1 ton ) are the wide spring perches , and will bolt right in your k10. You will need u-bolts and to plates and a coversion joint for the driveshaft or have a new shaft made. You may have to play with the brake lines and e brake cable a bit because of the year spread , but no big deal. The factory gov lock kind of sucks if thats what it has. May need longer shocks as well , (depending on which shock mounts it has).

Front end , easy bolt in , will have to play with brakes and driveshaft again because of year spread.

I dont mess with 80's square's much , but they are pretty close to the same , just have some metric stuff on them.
