Not sure what's going on. Truck steering is super easy to the right, quite a bit stiffer to the left. Makes it a squirrel on the road. Adjusted the slack screw but didn't help much. Any thoughts or ideas?

Fluid flow is controlled inside the steering gear. Since it turns good in one direction and not the other, I would think the problem is in the steer gear. Welcome to the forum.

I agree, sounds like the steering box is the culprit.

If you replace the steering gear, I'd buy a reman locally. I replaced the one in my Jimmy with a RockAuto box, and while it was cheaper and a quality reman, the core was pretty steep and the shipping evened it out to just going to Napa and getting one.

I woul advice otherwise to stay away from basic remans and get one built to spec. I have yet to get a correctly rebuilt steering box from part stores. But it might work fine.

Agreed, 100%. The reman companies do get one right here and there on accident, but there are a lot of duds.

I didn't realize it was that bad. Who are the good ones that you guys have used? I bought the BBB Industries one for my Jimmy, and it's great. My brother bought one from NAPA for a GMT400 he has, and it also does well.

They are all hit and miss. I've installed just as many bad ones from Napa/O'rielys/Advance/Autozone.
