75 full time 4wd th350 and np203 replacement help

i have a 75 k10 full time 4wd with a turbo350 and np203. its bad and i dont think the transmission guy wants my money as he said it needed major surgery and would be $2500.00 but i dont want to pay that much. thats more than i paid for the truck so, what can i purchase to replace my bad items. i am a youtube mechanic but i am willing to try anything.

Which is bad, the trans or tcase?

A th350 is one of the cheapest automatics to build.

the 350. ive watched videos but i cant seem to figure out how to do the rebuild. mechanics around here i dont really trust. the price you get will be depending on how much work they had had in the past few days

It's not hard to build but there's probably a couple of special tools required. Maybe pull the trans and tcase yourself and have a good shop bench build the trans? You'd save a lot of money on labor.
